Food & Drink

Cameron House - Dining

Guests have a choice of four restaurants, the unequalled Cameron Grill, the divine Boathouse or the inviting Claret Jug, the best 19th hole in Scotland. A stunning restaurant, the Cameron Grill has taken hotel dining to another level. A contemporary interior influenced by the very roots of Scotland’s history. A dramatic 28ft mural of a scoundrels and vagabonds banquet overlooks the room as modern day diners tuck into local legends on pewter plates. The menu has been created using delights from Scotland’s larder, expertly prepared and served in an unpretentious manner. The choice of ingredients is so vital to the restaurant that they are even part of the décor, with a fully functional butchery as a key feature. The open plan kitchen also demonstrates the dedication to making the entire experience an unforgettable one from start to finish.

A slight break away from the traditional ‘mead’ is the walk in cellar which can be explored by diners to assist with selecting from an expertly complied wine list. In complete contrast is the light and airy setting of The Boathouse. The same exacting dedication to anything fresh with regards to ingredients with a wood burning pizza oven to create your perfect slice. The Boathouse’s décor is a nod to New England style with stunning views out over the marina and the loch itself. The Claret Jug a more, informal and relaxed environment perfect for home-made burgers and steak pies to fill you up after a bracing round of golf, or a deliciously fresh salad to give you that nourishing boost after a wallow in the spa.

And to the lounges and bars - for dram lovers, the Whisky Bar boasts a selection of over 260 different whiskys, including 17 limited editions and one made by Auchentoshan purely for Cameron House. The Great Scots bar an impressive space housing a beautiful pewter topped bar with gigantic windows using the Loch as a backdrop and decorated with images of inspiring Scottish legends.

For a more formal dining experience, Martin Wishart at Loch Lomond is a must. The second restaurant for the Michelin star chef opened in December 2008. The world renowned chef has a long association with Cameron House having worked as a Chef de Partie there when the hotel opened in 1991. The menu consists of seasonal dishes created in traditional and modern French style of cooking and are complimented with an expertly selected wine list, impeccably served.

For those that wish to indulge within a world of serenity the chic modern spaces and extensive relaxation areas of The Spa at Cameron House has been specifically designed to embrace the surrounding dramatic landscape with the infinity pool overlooking the loch and the moody Ben Lomond at the lowest point of the Highlands. Signature treatments include the Carita and Kerstin Florian range including the Caviar Facial and Chamomile Body Wrap. As well as a range of stress busting treatments and therapies, The Spa also has a 20-metre lagoon style leisure pool and a well-equipped fitness centre.

Some of the elevated holes offer spectacular views of Loch Lomond to the west and Ben Lomond to the north, providing not only stimulating and challenging golf, but some breathtaking photo opportunities - none more so than the elevated tee 80ft above the green at the signature hole, the 199-yard, par 3, 14th called 'Tappet Doon'.
